Our Story

 Backyard Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in the heart of Utica, NY, dedicated to partnering with local school districts and community organizations to support youth and families throughout our region. While we prioritize meeting the needs of at-risk youth and underserved families, our mission is to create opportunities for all young people in our community, ensuring no one feels excluded.

By connecting the population we serve to mentors, peer groups, athletics, arts, and more, Backyard Hope, Inc. fosters a supportive environment where every child can thrive. We believe in empowering youth to explore their potential, build meaningful relationships, and discover new interests, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our goal is to ensure that every child has the tools they need to thrive in school and beyond. From clothing, hygiene products, and school supplies to food and other essentials, we strive to eliminate barriers that prevent children from succeeding and families from feeling supported.

We recognize the importance of accessibility. By addressing challenges like language barriers and financial limitations, we ensure that no one is left behind. Additionally, we provide families with the knowledge and resources to engage fully in their community, including information about local events, employment, sporting events and extra curricular activities children can participate in.
